Better questions, brighter journey
Find a koi you’ll love living with.
A little preparation makes choosing more fun. Here’s your route from first look to a useful chat with the dealer.
01 · Find your favourites
Start with what suits you.
Think about your pond, space and budget. In Scout, narrow the choice by variety, age, size or price. Open a koi for photos and dealer details.

Found a favourite? Open its dealer listing. Confirm how it looks today, what it costs and how it gets home. The dealer handles the sale.
What to askA few handy details
What do the listing details mean?
- Breeder
- The farm named by the dealer.
- Variety
- The colour and pattern family, such as Kohaku, Sanke or Showa.
- Bloodline
- The stated lineage. Ask for records if this matters to you.
- Age
- The age category and hatch season.
- Size
- The length in centimetres. Ask when it was measured.
- Sex
- The dealer’s stated sex. Check how certain it is.
How do I use Scout and Body?
Scout brings quality and potential together before price. Body looks at shape in the dealer photo and does not change Scout. A missing score means no usable assessment, not zero.
Read the scores →What does this price mean?
- Dealer price
- The recorded asking price. Confirm the current amount and availability.
- Auction bid
- An observed bid, not the final sale price. Check the status, fees and conditions.
- POA
- Price on application. Ask the dealer for a quote.
- Past listing
- An earlier asking price, not a confirmed amount paid.
Leave room for transport and any other charges. The dealer confirms the total.
